The furniture stores on base cannot order anything They say they never know what they are going to get, they just get it. I live by Ramstein AB. I'm looking for a German store that may sell American style Country.

There are several large good furniture stores within an hour's drive of Kaiserslautern - problem is I can't remember the names.

The store we shopped in advertised on base. Also check with the clerks in the German vendor shops - they'll know.

Belgium is actually the best place to buy furniture. But I imagine delivery costs now are much higher. We have several beautiful pieces from Germany, Belgium and Holland - don't give up!

I'd look at all the thrift stores on base-- Stuff is recycled all the time-- try all levels on your base-- then check the other bases-- there's still a lot of service folks there.
good luck
