You are right on the money. Alot of people need to hear that. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God only how you can hear the word is by a the preacher, pastor, etc. Also John1:1 in the bi ginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. its all about hearing and studying his word, you are so right.

Why do you have to listen to someone and think they are preaching the truth? Which preacher is preaching the truth? They are preaching what they believe is the truth. The so-called Lord guided me to myself. I am extremely happy that I don't have to listen to anyone else. Only the ones who are afraid to search in their heart or mind need someone to preach to them.

I believe St. Francis said "Preach the gospel every day, if necessary use words" To me that means that walking the walk, i.e. living a good Christian lifestyle and being a good example is a better "advertisement" for your religion than mere words. If you have found something good in Christ, if he has truly made your life better, then it will show, you do not need to harangue people.

I believe you can also discover the will of the Lord on your own. God reveals things to me in different ways, such as through His Word when I'm studying on my own, and in my prayer time. But I do believe there are many reasons to go to church as well, and the Lord can definitely speak to us through the sermon. You're absolutely right about that!

Hey, if we don't go, it means we don't want to hear it. Just wait in the church for me.

More important though, what makes you think the preacher knows everything or more than anyone else as to what "god's" will is?

Amen!!! I wished more felt this way. I just read this one man who said who does not trust no man. Well if God calls a man to preach then this man will follow God and do his best to not teach false doctrine.

That place is Antarctica, but it is not your balsa wood god that calls you, but rather your Lord and Savior Oderus Urungus, Lord of the Universe and the stinking pile of cosmic vomit we call earth. Bow down before the Lord of Antarctica before it is too late and you spend eternity lapping at the heels of Gor Gor!
