Depends on the dog. As a breed... no, not necessarily. It's more often the result of idiot owners that make "bad" dogs.

Pit bulls, because of their history and their breeding, are more prone to animal aggression than, say, a golden retriever. Because of bad breeding, temperament in some INDIVIDUAL animals can be iffy at best, and combined with bad owners, they make a dangerous combination.

They require an owner who knows how to handle and train them correctly. Unfortunately, far too many pits are owned by idiots who use their dog as a penis extender.

There are no bad dogs only bad owners. The ones that inbreed and cause a dog to have rage syndrome or the ones that abuse a dog to a point that it won't tolerate another second of abuse and fights back.
Pit bulls will also get along with other dogs and cats. It's a matter of how you raise them. Since they do have a bad reputation, as soon as a pit bull plays( they do play rougher than alot of other dogs) they don't know their own strength so people panic. Many dogs will play rougher when you scream and cry out so the key is to keep your calm and senses about you, don't rough up any dog to play hard and start firm but real loving and caring training from day one and you will have an awesome dog.

Pitbulls are only dangerous when you train them to be. They have a really bad rap but I used to raise them, and I had some that were guard dogs that would attack on demand or when they thought I was in danger adn I had some that were totally harmless. They are energetic though and very playfull. They are awsome, loyal dogs.

Any dog can be dangerous in the wrong hands if not properly handled correctly. If you have a irresponsible owner ,a bad breeder of any breed of dog ,then you have a problem.Medium to large size dogs create bigger problems.

I've owned 5 APBT in the last 20 years and all have been great dogs . I know my dogs ,I know how to handle them .They have such a love for life and a love for people.I'm very responsible when it comes to my 2 dogs.

Absolutely not. The irresponsible owners are dangerous. Any dog is dangerous on the wrong hands.

Only if you train them to be...or sometimes if they were abused as puppies. I had a pitbull that was afraid of everything and would hide under the bed if someone knocked on my door! I loved that dog! He wasn't much of a watchdog, but I still loved him.

I believe it all depends on how the animal is raised. The really ironic thing is that Cocker Spaniels (what a LOT of people think is the perfect family dog) had the most reported bites last year. You don't see any towns forbidding Cockers now, do ya? Kind of unfair if you ask me.

No. The owners are the only ones who are dangerous.

No they are not but they can be in the wrong hands, just like any other dog. I have one who is the biggest sweet heart and also the biggest chicken. Unfortunately people make them aggressive or mean. Pits love to please their owners and will do anything for them with putting their whole heart into it. Its not bad dogs rather bad irresponsible people.

Not if you raise them to be nice.
I have two of them and they are well behaved and do not attack people. My female loves little kids she plays with them all day long if you let her. It doesent even matter if she has ever met them before.
Same with my male one.
Any animal can be made to be mean, and that is the type of people that give the breed a bad name.
