This is my story... I had my first child and after I went in for my six week check up ( they did a pap there) and they called me saying that I had high cells, they werent cancer yet. So I had to go through a leep procedure. I then was fine, now I have had my second child three years later and got my pap done again.... and now I just got a call saying I need to go back in six months to check the cells again- since I have a history of high cells. Why does it keep happening over and over... does anyone know about this?

The cells are HPV. Human papillomavirus. It is the only thing that can cause pre cancerous cells. It is also the cause of genital warts. Don't be alarmed most of the sexually active population have it, myself included. The reason you were told to come back to get another pap was probably to be sure that the virus is under control or still eradicated, whichever the case may be. These cells are the only way to get cervical cancer, but rarely do they actually end in cervical cancer. There are a few different levels and so on. Talk to your doctor about it for the most information. She/he should have already had a discussion about it with you. Good luck

They just told you "because you have a history of high cells." Cancer is a very scary, very deadly thing. It can show up at any time in someone prone to the disease. Maybe they didn't get it all. Maybe some of those cells were missed and kept on going. There's no telling what may have happened between then and this time. They're also trying to make sure you can't sue them for not being thorough. The earlier they catch things like that, the better. You should be glad they're checking into it for you.

Abnormal Cells on your cervix more than once is normal. The reason that women have to get the pap test done regularly is because abnormal cells on the cervix is so common. They recommend you start doing the pap test after you have started your period or once you become sexually active. They do this because of the changes "down below" can ultimately cause change to the cells on your cervix. In your case it may be that when you are getting pregnant your cells have a high risk of changing. This is just my opinion, you should ask your doctor anyways! Good Luck

My paps come back abnormal always because I had a hysterectomy. My vagina is going thru atrophy(because I am menopausal) which means it is inflammed. I would imagine you are inflammed after the birthing process. Just always have the test and maybe ask the doc about inflammation. I have to go every 3 months for a pap. I did have endometrial cancer before but, it was very contained and never spread. I did not even have to have chemo or radiation.

They just want to keep a check on you for a while. I had two leeps after first two kids, kept getting checked and its been twelve years since my pap was abnormal. For my third pregnancy, I had to have a cerclage( sewed my cervix shut) to keep the baby in because there wasnt much cervix left. Everything was fine though. You should be ok.
