I recently had a checking account at us bank. I was overdrawn about 30 bucks and didn't have a real job at the time and couldn't pay it back really fast...us bank charges like 3 dollars a day until you pay it back...well my account was overdrawn because of that 400 something dollars...so i cant get another bank account because they claimed account abuse and i was just wondering how i completely clear it up and if i just pay it off can i get another bank account again???

I agree with the others, find a different bank.

If you pay that bank, request before paying - in writing - that they will delete the tradeline they have placed on Chex.

Check your credit reports to make sure they haven't placed anything on them either. If they have, also request that they remove it before you pay.

Accounts that are placed on the ChexSystem stay on for 5 years.

You might go to www.chexvictims.com and look for a bank that does not pull Chex. They have a great data base of non Chex banks.

Just pay the money that you owe, which in your case, is $400. You were overdrawn and they penalized you for that. I would definitely switch banks, but you'll need to get this resolved before moving on. DO NOT sign up for any credit fixing programs or any other programs that claim they will resolve it for you. You will wind up paying them installments to pay off the $400, and end up paying even more than you need to. And it will hurt your already damaged credit even more.

Sounds like your bank is horribly unreasonable! I would never bank there again. You can look in your bank account paperwork and see what it says, but, even though it sounds like your bank is stealing, you'll probably just have to pay it back.

you'll probably have to pay it if you want to be able to get another account. when you pay, you need to ask if they are going to put you on chexsystem. being on chex system is no good.
