Hi we dont have cream and where in the UK, we have just painted it like a goldy brown colour, well the colour was called milky coffee and biscuit crunch on the other side. Its up to you white is known as a cold colour but would you like to have a bright room, as white maybe lightening it a bit too much. You could maybe try a pale peach, i now dulux has a nice colour its called jasmine white it has a little yellow in it. I saw it today when i was buying my paint. Get a colour chart from your DIY store as we cant really tell you as we dont know the lay out of you room. If you get a chart you will deffinatly get the perfect colour, and you can even buy tester pots.

You are right in thinking white is cold; with the colours you mention I'd try an off white with a pinkish tone such as` Dulux almond white.

how about yellow....the sweet honey yellow...i think it will brighten up the room and will still match ur gold red brown and black. .....u can go to building supplies/hardware store like Home Depot in the US or a paint store...they have programs there that will allow u to look at the blending of colors....

I think you have really dark furniture if your couches are black or brown.
Try like a light grayish brown that kind of reminds me an iced expresso. And put in a light, maybe cream, colored rug.

White can be brilliant if you have lots of lovely pictures to hang, otherwise it can be quite stark. Maybe a white with a hint of range. I.e peach, apple, gold etc.

Maybe you could do it in a light grey and then faux paint it with a little darker grey.
