I hear that they wear sandals in the middle east because it's really hot there, but why do they wear sandals even when it's not hot? I see Arabs in the mall wearing sandals, and it's nice and cool in there. Do they wear sandals because it's religious or something?

I am not Arab, and I wear sandles all the time.... It is because they are comfortable, and easy to remove when I enter someones house.

In Islam, it may have something to do with Hajj (Arabic: Øج translit: Ḥajj), (Turkish:Hac).

Its all about culture. Why do some Arabians wear robe-like clothing in the mall? If you were in Arab wearing socks and shoes, I'm sure they'd question your preferences just the same no matter what temperature it is.

I know huh, but even hear I see alot of guys wearing sandals like they are at the beach or homosexuals, Put some dam shoes on people, we dont want to see your ugly feet. only the girls can where them.

No I think it is force of habit, they are nice. comfy and fashionable among various Arab and African and Asian people and Germans!
