can someone recommend a good conditioner that doesn't make your hair greasy the day after you've washed it

In a sense you don't rinse conditioner completely out of your hair, as it coats the hair and conditions it, as it is meant to do. It depends on your hair type what conditioner is really going to suit it. I'd recommend trying one of the Dove conditioners, choosing the one that would best seem to suit your hair. Don't use too much conditioner either. Just one good blob and work it gently through your hair, rinse it out gently without scrubbing your hair, letting the water run through (recommend washing your hair in the shower).

Ok well my first piece of advice is - don't put conditioner all over your hair!! You literally should be using no bigger than a 10 pence piece (a quarter in US $) and it should really only be massaged in to the ends of your hair. There is no reason to put the conditioner near the roots as this can cause a build up and residue which can lead to greasy hair as soon as the next day. It can also lead to flat and lifeless hair as conditioner is quite heavy and obviously a softener which can pull hair down leaving it dull and lacking shine. Always finish your hairwash with a cool rinse as this can help with the shine. To ensure the conditioner is gone, run a comb through and then your fingers and if you can 'feel' a squeak, then it's clean. The cool rinse always helps with this. As for a recommendation, if you are on a budget then try Herbal Essences for regular use, if you are feeling quite flush then try John Frieda Frizz-Ease range and if money is no problem, the creme de la creme of conditioners is L'Oreal Kerastase Dermo-Calm Emulsion Hydra-Calmante Revitalising Care. It really is fabulous and will leave your hair non-greasy but with voluminous roots and smooth, soft ends. It's also hypoallergenic which is good to know. Another good tip is to try a spray leave in conditioner instead of one you rinse out. They are so light and wouldn't leave your hair lank plus no rinsing!!! Hope this helps xx

When you're washing it out you feel your hair become really smooth, only when that smooth feeling subsides a little bit is when the conditioner is completely out, when you can really feel the grip of your hands on your hair again.

If you don't want your hair to become greasy too quickly don't apply conditioner to the roots or scalp area, but only to the rest of the hair. Blow drying your hair for a long period of time just after washing it (when your hair is still saturated with water) also makes your scalp sweat more, under the heat.

Sunsilk (the blue one) is good because I suffer from q.greasy hair, but this conditioner, plus shampoo, makes your hair nice and grease free for up to 3 days!! Although Herbal Essences smell gorgeous, don't be tempted, they are heavy on the hair making it greasy quickly.
To ensure that you get grease free hair, after washing with shampoo and conditioner, pinch your hair slightly and run down pieces of your hair, you should feel and hear the squeaky cleaness, meaning that the conditioner is fully washed out! Hope my advice helps.

i find if you get a bath shampoo and then leave the cond on till you have finished washing the rest of you then rinse, once you have finished in the bath give your hair another blast with the shower with water as cold as you can stand it then it gets it all outand plus smooths all the follicles therefore leaving your hair SHINY NOT GREASY! hope this helps.

rinse with cool water after conditioning and to reduce frizz and improve the appearance of your hair... to know when its out: rinse for a few extra minutes than u usually do and run ur fingers thru your hair, if you can still feel it (semi greasy feel) then its not out....
a good conditionner is garnier fructis sleek and shine...and a bonus is that it smells good and is cheap...

Try using a leave-in conditioner instead that you just spritz into your hair and brush through.
