The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, and walk out the door, and deny him with their life style.
That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.

WOULD YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE?

Why?

What matters is the confession!!!

What we confess with our lips is of the utmost importance. Of course we won't behave perfectly. Being a Christian does not make us perfect, that is plum unrealistic.

I think that those who use that excuse are just using it as a cop-out because they know the Truth, but reject it.

I guess you are right to "unbelieve" if you only look at those "Christians" who don't walk the walk.

I have doubts in some of the things being done in the name of "Christianity". But those happened because of deviations and wrong interpretations of Christ's basic message, i. e. the failure to LOVE, allowances made because of our selfish nature.

Jesus made it very clear that the 2 first and foremost commandments are:
to love God with ALL our being and above ALL "things", and to love ALL our fellow men & women, even if the may be our enemy. Any laws or "interpretations" deviating from those two are invalid according to Jesus.

I have no doubt that Jesus taught the right way. By the way, He was not the only one who taught compassion AND forgiveness as rules for life. But I believe He did it most clearly.

Can you immagine, if every Jew, Sihk, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu and Muslim would follow their "masters'" teachings of compassion and forgiveness toward their fellow men and women that there could/would be peace on Earth?

So why don't we try it??

Yes I do believe that if Chrisians don't live up to what they speak, then it will not be a benefit to those are searching for the Biblical truth. But even so, people should always read the Bible for reference to what they have been told, in case they are doubting, that way they have proof. Are we not living proof that there is a God,who created us? Look at all the things around us,family, nature, the sunrise every morning and the sunset at night. It is God Almighty, and ONLY Him that can do such marvelous works.Start off with reading Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created heaven and earth."

I disagree, how can anyone accuse Christians when they don't even know all Christians, and how they act. Science is the culprit I believe, things started going bad in the 60's and has gone down hill ever since. Read the scriptures and pray and make your own decision on God. Too many people want to blame their lack of believe on what they think are hypocrites of the church. Anyone can look for an excuse they are every where. God Bless!!

I agree. However, everyone has sin. Those Christians are human also. Believing in Jesus will not make you perfect. We need to express God. Just because you are a Christian, doesn't mean Satan doesn't tempt you to do bad things. Go to www.lsm.org and read about witness lee and watchman nee. Two leading Christians who really expressed God in their actions. They wrote a lot of literature. If you have questions about the bible, go to https://www.biblesforamerica.org/products/RequestRcV.aspx and request a free New Testament Bible that is free shipping. Also, this bible has over 14,000 footnotes to help you understand. Bibles for America is a non profit organization.

I agree. Kind of hard to convert someone to what you believe, when you don't live it yourself. You can't claim to have Peace and then dog people at every turn because they are different. Peaceful people don't do that. Also, a person can not claim to follow a Loving, Just, Merciful God and then use the "hell" threat because they don't believe. There is nothing loving or merciful about that.

as a pagan i would agree,

i do not know how many times that someone has come-a-knocking at my door to spread the word, and then rooled their eyes and sighed when i told them that i was pagan,,,
i will not even go into the Hellfire speaches that i have heard,
and the ammount of times that i have seen professed christians
show neither tolerance or mercy to thoes less fortunate.

if you are going to tell me thay your religion is of peace love and mercy .and then tell me that i am going to burn in hell for my beliefs and walk right past the homeless guy that hangs out near my house because i give him lunch everyday. wothout even stopping to ask if he needs help, you show me they you are not interrested in peace or love or mercy, you are just looking for the bragging rights of how many you converted that day...

my soul is not a pawn in a chess game.

I agree is one of the causes...but not the greatest. In some cases that is more an excuse, everyone can choose their own way, don't blame other for the decisions you take.

Atheist here...

Absolutely not, their actions have nothing to do with my decision. Mine was based on research and examining evidence to determine the bible is a crock of crap.

Their actions only proves my point.

P.S. Look at what the guy above me said, he proves my point about mindless christians... what a moron.

I would agree to a degree, if you please.

I see many responses and "questions" from Christians here, and many are very, very negative and actually force people to turn their back. Not all, mind you, but most of them who are in Yahoo.

But then who lives a life of total peace and harmony, other than Tibetan monks?
