diphtheroid = looks like the bacteria Corynebacteria diphtheriae (bacteria that causes diphtheria) These are gram +

This does NOT cause whooping cough, which is caused by Bordatella pertussis. these are gram -

The vaccines for these 2 diseases are contained in the same formulation, along with tetanus (DTaP, and TDap/Td)

It's the Gm+ cocci that causes diphtheria, whooping cough and pertussis. With immunization from these childhood diseases.;hopefully these diseases are eradicated.

with tha classical whoop ,

but are now immunised

so now occurs in old people who are weak
