yes there's no restrictions on cousin marriage in the u.k. the united states is the only country that has limits on this is about half of the states.

1st cousin couples have a 4-6% risk to their offspring and the average couple poses a 2-3% risk. most cousin couples have no trouble at all. and believe it or not the most common problem your kids would have is a hearing problem. unless you have a genetic defect in your family blood line you should have a 94% chance of having completely normal healthy babies! but it never hurts to go to a geneticist to be prepared for any possible complications.
don't believe what some say about cousin marriage being wrong...there's a huge stigma attached to it and very few people realize they've probably met a married couple with healthy children who were cousins!

Yes, it is perfectly legal to marry your cousin in the UK. The only factor to be aware of with any children is if there is a particular gene for an illness like say Parkinson's disease etc. then it would be more likely that this, or any other disease could be passed on through the genes. That said, it is highly unlikely unless your family is extremely unlucky to be carrying an abnormal gene.

There are variant laws for variant countries of the United Kingdom.
For England and Wales at least, it is perfectly legal to marry a first cousin ( as long as they are of the opposite sex). Equally same sex couples who are fist cousins may enter into a civil partnership.
As to whether resultant children of the marriage are normal or otherwise, I think there is always a slightly higher risk of some defects. Don't think it is very common for first cousins to marry, however perhaps someone may have more info.

It would depend on how close cousins you are. For example is your cousin your uncles daughter/son. In some places, they place restrictions saying you can't marry first and sometimes second cousins. Maybe it would be better to find someone who is not family. I have seen babies who are mentally and physically challenged because of this, mostly mentally.

As you may notice, all the people who are saying "ewwww" also have no idea what they are talking about. I know someone whose parents were cousins, and she is totally normal. Actually, she's way better than normal. It was a long time ago and the social stigma maybe wasn't what it is today.

The worst abnormality is created by the judgmental people around them.
