I am 21, and live In CA.I have had two heart operations in the last 4 years and am not supposed to do any heavy labor like lifting, pushing, being out in the heat, etc.
Does this qualify me for disability assistance from the state of CA?(I sure could use it right now to pay what medi-cal wouldnt cover,as well as life in general )
How do I go about getting it/finding out if I qualify?

yes! you may be eligb for par/full disability! one, ask your doctors they should be helping you!! or there should be a section in you phone book about the disability act!!! Your doctor should have completed a form, if you were part or fully disable. if he has not talk to him, ask him to do this for you. tell him you have med bills you can not afford, you need to be on some kind of assistance.

It depends on the amount of time you spent working before your disability began, whether your disability restricts you from performing your regular job, whether you are qualified and able to perform any other job, and how long your disability is expected to last. If you haven't had opportunity to work, you might be better off trying for supplemental security income. I believe medicare is offered with both but you need to check on that one. Good luck.

It's a long, rough road to collecting disability. I depends 99% on what your physician will state in a letter to Social Security. Have you checked into applying for SSI? It's not much, but better than nothing.
