This is a good one. Luis Rodriguez had many fights with Emile Griffith in the 1960's.Buddy McGirt was a good fighter, but I'd have to give Rodriguez a win in this one in a 15 round close unanimous decision

Brent F you sure can come up with some good matchups sir and I thank you for that. Rodriquez was a fine fighter and gave Griffith some really tough battles in the 60's! McGirt was also a fine fighter who had good punching power. I believe that in this contest Rodriquez outboxes McGirt and withstands some good combinations from McGirt and toughs out the decision in this one.

A first rate match-up
Rodriquez - W 107 (KO's 49) TF 121 - W pct 88% - KO pct 40% - wins over B. Paret{2}, Atkins[2], Griffin, Briscoe and "Hurricane" Carter{2} - KO'ed by Benvenuti and R. Gutierrez (unknown)
McGirt - W 73 (KO's 48) TF 80 - W pct 91% - KO pct 60% - wins over S. Mamby, F. Warren, Davis and Bramble - KO'ed by Taylor and A. Council (unknown)
The have similar records and similar careers. McGirt was a better puncher. Rodriquez fought better fighters and had more experience. In this match, I see Rodriquez in a 15 rd decision.

McGirt wins. Underrated fighter.
