He sure didn't look "done" against Sam Peter the other night...IMO he was screwed and should have won a narrow decision. How two of the judges saw it 116-111 for Peter is beyond me, especially with them both giving Peter a sweep of the last 5 rounds. Toney is a freak of nature--he may be "long in the tooth" and look like he spends more time training with a knife and fork at the buffet line than in the gym, but he's a very smart, highly skilled fighter with a solid chin. Age has a way of sneaking up on a fighter, but I expect to see at least several more good fights from Toney...

How's he done?
He beat one heavyweight champ and drew with another.

'da1prophet' is right, he's a freak of nature.
Who would have thought, twelve years ago, when he was embarrassed by Roy Jones, that today he would be a serious factor in the heavyweight picture, and Jones would be getting his a** kicked on a regular basis? Boxing is indeed the theater of the unexpected.

The secret to Toney's longevity is his style and solid fundamentals.
He has great balance, but more importantly, he is very conservative with his movement - both offensively and defensively. He only throws punches when he's certain they will land, and slips and dodges shots with an almost undetectable subtlety.
He'll be around for a while longer.

gordongecko - Toney IS a serious threat in the heavyweight division.

If Toney would truly dedicate himself and get into fighting shape, he would be a serious threat in the division. From a technical standpoint he is one of the best in the sport, but his conditioning is terrible and it shows in his fights.
