Imagine if we all practiced tolerance and respect for one another, and let go of desire. Geesh, we'd be living in Heaven on Earth right now! Too bad we have to go around bombing each other.

Most religions teach tolerance, respect for one another and let go of desire, and also the more strong ideals of compassion and loving-kindness, and of course that'd make the world a much better place. Actually, everyone who practice these ideals WILL make the world at least a little better place! The best thing about buddhism is that it not only teaches these ideals, but also HOW to practice and attain them.

However, I'm afraid we have an infinitely lot of work to do before we can reach that Heaven on Earth ... But that's not a reason not to start the work right now! Every skillful step is a step in the right direction, however small it may be.

These are some of the things buddha said
Buddhist believe in Karma & Reincarnation (Cause & Effect)
Our next life is determined from the things we do in this life (Good, Bad)
We try to find the ultimate freedom by purifying our mind from any bad thoughts....and by gaining ultimate wisdom...and achieve Nirvana
We achieve this by Meditation
Our religion never shed blood in the name of religion
We believe every living things has the same right to live and our religion is opposed to killing of any living being (Animals, insects)
We don’t believe that god can bring us happiness or ultimate wisdom...........it’s our mind which can achieve anything....so we don’t worship GOD
We believe there is heavens and many other worlds in the universe
they don’t have any power on us they are worlds like us but only higher than us
When we die we go there according to our Karma. Nirvana is a state of mind, Its not heaven, we believe its better than heaven. Its ultimate bliss of mind

The next life is decided by the energy (Karma)....created by our mind. Nobody judges It, if we have good karma...good worlds….. bad karma...we go to bad worlds...its like water flowing down....its the way of the universe

I have a lot of respect for Buddhism, but I don't consider myself a Buddhist because they don't really try to better the world. It's all about enlightenment with them...and no monk has ever inspired me. I'd say agnosticism is the way to go, but that's just me.
