Some young girls are dressing pretty slutty now-a-days. I hate to see preteens in those super short short with writing across the butt. It's like saying "Hey look at my butt!" Seriously, it is. If the bear minimum of clothes wasn't all over the TV and magazines that are children read, then maybe they wouldn't feel like they need to show everything except nipples & vagina. It's pretty discusting. A lot of mothers are now working so they feel that they need to "buy" their childrens love by letting them wear the clothes they want. It's not healthy or right - but it's true. This was a good question. Have a great day & I hope you find all of the answers that you are looking for.

I'd have to say yes. I've seen girls wear low cut shirts and they don't even have any boobs to fill it out! They only fall into being provocative because of what they are exposed to and taught that it's okay. You are who you hang around with. If you dress like a ho, you'll be a ho. If you hang in a bar, odds are you'll drink.
This kind of apparel does offer a visual invite and doesn't help even if they try to stray from temtation. There are many sides to this arguement, but only only side is truth. If you're a little girl, dress like a little girl. If you want to be treated like an adult or even a hoe, than by all means dress like it, but dress acordingly. We all want people to look passed our appearance and see us for who we really are, but first impressions are from what the eyes behold. Very good question to raise a worthy disscussion.

Pedos don't need encouragement.... they need opportunity. I would be more concerned with too many young children being unsupervised during play etc.

However I believe girls that dress to provacatively at ages 11-14 attract teenage boys that have things in mind and may not know they are too young.

If she's 12 and looks 20 thats an invitaion for disaster...

Yes indeed.
I think our youth are at risk and constantly bombarded with adult issues.
Even the Disney channel makes me question why we need to address sexuality and other adult issues to kids.
The Bratz dolls are training our girls to dress like hoochies.
Just look at any fasio magazine and tell me the models in provocative poses are over 18 years.
Of course someone get's caught with an underage girl or looking at young girls porn and they are considered a sick pervert but see it on tv or a mag and it is considered art? Art my ****!
I say either make the legal age back to fourteen, or for Pete's sake leave the pooor kids to be kids.
I won't even bother to mention MTV.
I think it is because we have entertained too many liberal ideas which have eroded conventional traditions. The 'it's ok as long as it does no harm' attitude is bull.
Mothers...
dressing your little girl like a hooker is NOT cute. It is wrong!

Yikes, this is a tough one!!!

When I was a young girl, I wore halter tops, short shorts, and bikini's. This was nearly 30 years ago.

I don't think things have changed that much over time. I just think that girls want to act as old as they dress now. Before it was cute when the little girls got in their mothers make up and wore her boa and high heels now we call those little girls tramps for doing the same thing we did as girls. I think the difference is, is that sex is all over the place, television, print ads, EVERYTHING.

I have a teenager, it's hard to tell her no to the same clothes she was wearing as a young child. I try and get her into a one piece or a tankini she wont have it. Her mother started buying her thong underwear at 9!!! How to you tell them no now years later when it was just so "cute" years ago? (side note, I could kick her mother for this)

Also, the fashion industry caters to this. I could not find clothes that weren't "Trampy" for young girls/women.

I tend to think so, I think that kids see their favorite movie star wearing something and of course are going to want to wear the same thing. I feel it's the parents responsibility to explain that maybe this is not appropriate for you to wear at your age,but most parents have problems saying no to their kids, so they let them dress however they want. By wearing something that is beyond their age, they will get looked at, not only by perverts, by men, some of these 16 year olds look 19. You can't blame a man for looking. So to answer your question YES...

well its kind of hard to say becuase times change, these days they make some of those clothes for lil kids, i think some things are to revealing for girls under 18, theres a certain message given out in the way a female dresses, although most of it is stereotype..............
