Can anyone have a slave/service auction?

Sometimes a charity will have a "slave auction" where volunteers are auctioned off to the highest bidder for a set time. Can anyone do that, or just charities? Of course, assuming you get the permission of the ones being auctioned off, etc.

Yes, there are events like thta
But being african american i wish they would change the name of these charities event for historical purposes..
Maybe calling them maid/butler auction
