I'll say "7 troops killed today" and some idiot will say "20 were killed in drunk driving crashes"in the USA. There are 145,000 troops in Iraq ( Yes it has gone up ) and 7 died in the last two days. OK, 20 died in car crashes but that is out of a population of 280 million. Do the math. I say again. 7 fine American troops were killed in the last two days and it was on page 7 of my newspaper. Something is wrong!!!

I agree with you.........I think the worst part is 95% of US citizens only care about the troop death count not the total ( including civilians ). We are supposed to be a great caring nation but we don't even concern ourselves with the innocent who do die over there!!! 1,500 hundred died in Baghdad alone in August and they said that was an IMPROVEMENT!!!!! There is mass slaughter going on there beyond anything we know but we don't care at all about that......just wondering about ourselves and only ourselves, the American Way :)

I say we put all the stupid people on planes. Send them over to Iraq with a few guns and one round of ammo. See what they think then. Probably won't have anything to say then, will they. An accident and being KIA is way different. You can't compare the two. Stupid people should just keep their damn mouth shut and stick to talking about things they know, not things they think they know about. Those soldiers that died, died to protect us. They paid the ultimate sacrifice and I am thankful for them everyday.

because most of them do not take the time to find out all of the information that is available, they listen to one persons view and take it as the gospel. You can listen to the same story on several different newscasts and hear it told in a different way. You have to be a big enough person to either say that you are not well enough informed to make a choice or ask for more information.

Are we stupid when it comes to war or are our hands tied? There's nowhere to go with it anymore, my penpal in Iraq says when we get done with Iraq, we'll have to start on Iran, get done with that, we have to deal with Korea again...neverending battle, except for turing over to One government, no one wants to turn over, and no one wants to rule the world. I think the song was wrong...When you see what everything is, how it's all tied in together, how its tied into the worst parts of the Bible, they really don't wanna do it, so we sit on our hands and do nothing until some one steps aside, and some one steps up.

When is someone going to speak truthfully about the crisis of confidence that the "war on terror" has created in your country, everyday I read with growing amusement the rantings and ravings of both sides both republican and democrat (I refuse to call them either Neocon or Liberal) as both references degrade the individual,, your constant sniping and carping about "whose fault it is" achieves only a negative outcome for all And don't give me this bu llshit about that what makes us great, the freedom to express our differences" because at the moment your divide is growing exponentially and unless you elect someone to speak for everyone all will be for nought. Your enemy will become yourselves and to that end your perceived enemy will have achieved his objective "Divide and conquer"
Perhaps with the 5th anniversary of 911 you may again regain a sense of unity and purpose, for all of your sakes I hope so.

Absolutely! It's pitiful that the public and the press are so disinterested by this that it relegated to page 7. The lack of an attention span is sickening. We need to focus on this war. We need to remember its casualties. We need someone to draw attention to this situation daily. We need someone to mock and belittle the soldiers when they die. We need someone to cheer for the terrorists and laugh at how the U.S. is getting its butt kicked... Oh, wait- we have you for that.

Some people in this country have no respect for the people fighting for freedom. Look at Cindy Sheehan...she is a pathetic excuse of a human being. We should put her out of our misery.

Driving is a necessity and those deaths are accidents.

Soldiers dying in an illegal and unjust war is a different story.

In our ADD mentaility country, those brave people's deaths are moved off the front page becuase its not necessarily news anymore and we end up become numb to them. Idiots like Hilton or Tom Cruise will make the front page.

Why are you so adamanatly ignorant about life in general?

How many innocent Americans were murdered in the streets of your home town today? How about in the nearest large city?

You troll the same BS day after day after day after day, and then rail at *US* because WE'RE ignorant? Grow up.
