for His and our pleasure, for our enjoyment! to show His glory and what He has created. to show that He is God and nothing is impossible for Him. Compare our tiny little planet to the vast greatness that lies out there just waiting for us, such as Heaven.

For those who don't know (scientific knowledge being not that good among people who answer Astronomy and Space questions, it is likely it is even weaker here) we now know of 205 extra-solar planets orbiting 170+ stars, 20 stars have 2 or more known planets (there are two with 4 planets and four with 3). Some of these 205 stars are known to have asteroid belts.
The nearest star with a planet is Epsilon Eridani, 10,5 light years away and the13th nearest star to us. Gliese 876, at 15 light years away has 3. The furthest star known to have a planet is 21,500 light years away.
These are all in our galaxy the Milky Way, As there are approx 10^11 galaxies, if there were 213 planets in each on average, that would be 2.13 x 10^13 planets in the observable universe, which suggests that there is probably life on some of them.
In 1600 the Roman Catholic church burned at the stake Giodano Bruno for refusing to recant as heresy his two suggesrions
(a) there were extra-solar planets
(b) there was extra-terrestrial life on them
Bruno has been proved right on his first point. Do we have to wait for his second point to be proven, before entertaining his ideas and taking them seriously?

Your assuming there are other galaxies and planets. We have only been to the moon and our young (by earth's age) scientists say there are other planets because of their size and other factors. Space is fascinating to me because I believe we know about a speck of dust's knowledge of what we may actually discover some day. Look at what knowledge man had years ago and proved to be wrong years later--most people thought the earth was flat at one point. I'm no kook who is saying there aren't things out there. I am only saying we do not know what God had or has planned for those things and what they may turn out to be years from now.

In this solar system the inner planets balance earth's own orbit around the sun. The outer planets shield the earth from most of the free space debris. For the most part it works. Then again there is wormwood.. It's coming Jim

He's a creative God....we get that from him. I think we will be shocked to find one grain of sand in the next 400 years in the ocean of the universe.
I really hope I find out..I'm a Christian and I am so excited about outerspace. I love those pictures from the hubble telescope...I feel like a kids just days before Christmas...I want to know what is out there so badly.
Some how I think I will for some reason...I just think I will know the vastness of the universe and it's secrets...this is beyond my faith...I some how feel this...oh well...Great Question

similar questions communicate about that truth is what that's not because someone made it to thrill us - or God. Why couldn't the earth have 2 moons, quite of one? Why no longer with rings like Saturn? Why so small? Why any such large kind of stars contained in the universe? some thousands would were sufficient! Why is there a universe in any respect? Why no longer absolutely the void? one component about truth is that it truly is what it truly is in spite of what we wanted it will be. we may be able to study and study how the universe works, yet to invite WHY it exists it means that we assume of "someone" ought to have made it in a distinct way or in no way - and that is the fallacy in our wondering. The universe, truth, became no longer created by technique of everyone because that's the component that exists by substitute and keeps remodeling itself continuously and ever.

Because he likes Life.
You see, although there are some Idiotic dopes out there that believe life only exists here on Earth, they are what an intelligent person would call "wrong."
Life is abundant, and all around us.
This is no different than asking, why did He create you? Do you know why He did? I know why I'm here. :)
Oh, and cytbms is one of the Idiots I was talking about.

Well, there is a reason. We just don't know what it is. Here is a logical, scientific concept you may enjoy reading and considering:

Just really the tip of the iceberg though. I suggest you buy a telescope and look at all that is out there. Breathtaking. Maybe it's all there just so we can look up in wonder and amazement. LOL!

Maybe after he rested awhile he decided to try out new things like smaller planets, planets with moons, planets with rings, different colored planets. You know sort of like dyeing Easter eggs.

Faithful usually forget that little detail. Most people have no idea how big the universe is, how many worlds there are and how insignificant the Earth is. So God made the heaven so we could enjoy the starlit skies at night...! Oh! and he also made us at his image man! How splendid! Good point
