I mean - I know it's a dried grape -- but is it actually in the fruit category?

i would think so because it originate from the fruits category. it just dried gape and you can't change the category just the because the process change right? any way fruit is fruit.

Technically yes because it still has its seed, a tomato is also a fruit, because it has seeds, if it no longer had its seed it would be considered a vegitable.
