Its simply a answering machine for your cell phone. Once you have set it up you're good to go. If you cant get to your phone in time then your voice mail will pick up and the person who is callin you can simply leave a message. Your phone will notify you and allow you to call it back and listen to your messages. Fairly easy, and very useful if you cant get connected or your not at your phone. You should give it a whirl

Voice Mail, much like communism, is a concept that is sold on how wonderful it sounds in theory. It is the worst thing to happen to business since the 1930's recession.
In concept, voice mail allows you to leave a verbal message for a person when you cannot reach them via the phone. The person would then listen to the message, gather the information, and call you back. Efficient and Effective.
In practice, if your not having to wade through a digital switchboard where the only way to leave a message is to type in the first four letters of the last name of a person you only know as Joe, you wait for hours for an answer to a question that they haven't got yet.
Additionally, business' will use voice mail to screen calls, answering only the ones they feel are worth their time, and ignoring the ones where they don't want to talk to you because they owe you money, or a product, or an answer from your previous 5 messages.
I worked at one company where the owner actually screamed at one of the sales guys because he had the audacity to actually answer the phone instead of letting the machine pick it up.

In conclusion, there is either Company Service, or there is Voice mail.
