No, it's still around.. Remember his wife had real bad arthritis and something else... I think he's taking some time off.. Call HSN (home shopping network)... They may have more information, heck, e-mail them....

It is not getting very good reviews tho:

ultrex cookware model 07608

I purchased ultrex cookware from hsn, the information led me to believe that the inner coating would not come off. The sales person on the show had a drill with a wire brush attachment and showed that even metal cook ware wouldn't scratch it, now the coating is peeling and coming off the edges with a plastic like consistency. no answer from ultrex

I bought a set of ultrex with excalibur nonstick coating about 3 years ago. Like what they suggested on HSN, I used metal utensils( metal utensil safe was the reason why I bought it) 3 monthes later the nonstick coating already came off, leaving small patches of the material underneath nonstick coating to expose. Several months ago, I bought another Ultrex saucepan, thinking this time the new Ultrex II coating must be much better as they claim. Couple months later, I could already see some very bad sracth marks on the saucepan and it is not really nonstick anymore (although it cleans a little better than regular pans). When I call their company, I was told their nonstick is impossible to be not nonstick, maybe i didn't clean my pan properly and they will send me some cleaner, Until today I still have not received any cleaner whatsoever.

This cookware stinks!! I bought the whole darn set and I didn't use metal in them and they still scatched up. I would have been as well off spending a third of the price at Wally World! I know of 2 other people that have had the same problem. Plus they are a pain to clean!

And they have received the lowest rating from consumer reports. This sounds like typical shady-salesmanship. HSN is notorious for creating a new brand name....selling the heck out of it...then the maker disappears.

Look at this site before you buy another peice of this junk!

I bought a set of Ultrex cookware from Art Krull on HSN. I fell for the 50 year warranty line. I sent the whole set back after the finish started to peel and it cost me $35.00. HSN sent them back to me saying the warranty was no good because the company was no longer in business. I don't buy from HSN anymore. When they didn't honor the warranty they lost a good customer.

I bought 4 pieces of Ultrex II back in 2002 and have had no problems with the cook ware and still use them today as my main pieces when I cook. Yes on the 12" deep skillet the coating i starting to wear off but I haven't had any cooking issues. I do not put them in the dish washer and hand wash them only with warm water and soap. Cant remember what I paid for them at the time I ordered them but would like to order more of them if they were available.
