If the penalty for all your sins has been paid, then can you consider yourself sinless even though you're a habitual sinner?definitely. Jesus paid for all your sins(past, present and future)--you just need to admit that that is you need to be a Christian. You can be a habitual sinner but as a Christian all your sins will be paid for. It's like pouring water into a jar with a hole in it's bottom. Your sins are the water, the jar is you and the hole is created in the jar by Jesus--the moment you accepted his sacrifice. So, what is the meaning of repentance for sins?
You already repented for all your past, present and future sins the moment you accepted Christ. Why Jesus told the woman-"Go and sin no more". It's because Jesus was still uncrucified at the time. Some Christians are wrong in saying that we need to ask forgiveness.
no--it's not a master or servant relationship that we have with Jesus--such that we have to ask for his mercy everytime we sin. if somebody ask forgiveness for any sin--it implies that he have deep in his heart real doubt that all his future sins were forgiven as well. so, sin boldly. If you are a preacher of mercy, do not preach an imaginary but the true mercy. If the mercy is true, you must therefore bear the true, not an imaginary sin. God does not save those who are only imaginary sinners. Be a sinner, and let your sins be strong (sin boldly), but let your trust in Christ be stronger, and rejoice in Christ who is the victor over sin, death, and the world. We will commit sins while we are here, for this life is not a place where justice resides. We, however, says Peter (2. Peter 3:13) are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth where justice will reign.

Rom 6:1 What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 Let it not be! We who died to sin, how shall we still live in it?
Rom 6:3 Or are you ignorant that all who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been joined together in the likeness of His death, so also shall we be in the resurrection,
Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be nullified, so that we no longer serve sin.

The forgiveness that is in Jesus Christ is conditional upon "repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 20:21). It is a gift that God offers to everyone, but individuals must receive it by repenting and trusting in Christ, or they will remain dead in their sins. No one has biblical grounds to continue in sin, assuming that they are safe just because Jesus died on the cross. See 1 John 3:4–6.

That's a very common question that few people truly understand the answer to.

Here's my stab at it (the short version):

No. No one is sinless. Christians just happen to be forgiven.

Besides you miss the whole point. The more you actually know and love God, the more you don't want to sin. It's not about getting away with anything. There's much more to it than that.

If you're focused on trying to get away with sin or not, then you aren't focused on God. If you are focused on God, you begin to understand it's a love thing and it blows you away. I really can't descrtibe it but it's awesome!

You are one mixed up person!!! None of us are sinless. When we accept Christ as our saviour and repent of our sins, He does forgive our past sins and He saves us. But we are sinners by nature. We have to strive to live as Jesus lived, and repent of our new sins every day. We cannot sin boldly just because our past sins have been forgiven and we are saved. If you have that attitude, it is possible you haven't been saved to begin with. God knows your heart. We have to ask forgiveness every day!!!!!

This is not sound doctrine. We are called to be set apart from this world. Not to follow our flesh. To go and to sin no more!
Without repentance one cannot maintain a relationship with a perfect God. We are called to continually confess our sins before God and to grow in spirit and in truth. That does not include continued conscious sinning which causes separation from God.

God forgives us for our sins not because we repent, it is because Jesus died for our sins. You are correct, but that doesn't change the fact that God calls us to repent, God wants us to repent and that is why we have to. You should never sin Boldy, we are supposed to strive to be like Christ. Did Christ sin Boldy....I don't think so. ~Dawn

Just because you are saved does not mean that you are allowed to sin and get away with it. Read the New Testament and you might learn something. Be sure to have your glasses on when you read.

God allowed us to sin so that we willfully choose either evil or God. He loves us so much that he gave us the ability to live life sinfully and get it out of our system so that we can go back home and live for him when we die. The thing is that you have to live for God here so that you can have a good judgement when its time to go home.
