Mithraic studies show that Mithras was not born of a virgin, but rather hatched from a rock under a tree on the banks of a river. And the New Testament says nothing about Christ being born on Dec. 25th... that's just Christian holiday tradition.

True, but the tradition was put there as part and parcel of early Christianity adopting a lot of Mithraist practices and symbology.

Dec 25th was a date of Celebration of Mithras. Most likely him showing others how to be born again through the washing in blood. Osiris's birth date is Dec 25th. So is Apollo's and Dionysus'. There were several Gods who were "born" on that day. It's a common Pagan theme to have a savior born during Winter, a time when most ppl are depressed and wondering when Spring, rebirth, will come.
