It seems guys are always saying this in the personals ads but in reality, they don't even want to buy dinner. Where are the sugar daddies for women over 40? Why can't you love a man with money as much as a poor tightwad? I have dated plenty of cheapsters and didn't find them to be that great or wonderful.
I do have a job but sometimes a woman wants more than the basics in life. Half the time I can't even afford the basics, either.

Hey, Hon I'll let you in on a little secret of mine...Start hangin out in more expensive establishments... Like classy nightclubs, clubhouses, spas etc. This way when you meet a gentleman you already know he has plenty of money. I have a friend who is a going to law school, not because she wants to be a lawyer. But rather She is hoping to bag one! Anyway, if that is what you want (a sugar daddy) stop searching through the desperate cheapwads in the personals. Sugar daddy's dont hang out at bowling alleys or public pools. Sugar daddy's are out at the casino... or the club. Here is another idea... get a gym membership to the most exclusive gym in your area. Spend the extra money, it will be well worth the sweat, trust me.

always strive to be self sufficient and if you want something out of this life whether money or not, make sure you work hard to set yourself up by your own means to get and not depend on what another person can do for you.
Stop looking for someone to spoil you your not a baby but be grown enough to spoil yourself.
Stop looking for a man to spoil you but look for one who respects you and treat you decent and who want to enjoy nice things with you not all based on money, money , money.
Don't get me wrong, I am not the caviar type of person but I do love nice things and I do want someone who can show me some nice things but I give in return and I only do such when I have a relationship with that person.
There are sugar daddies for woman over 40 when the sugar daddy is over 60 or in their middle fifties but if your looking obvious to them that your looking for someone to take care of you or spend all their time trying to buy their way with you, you might not luck up.
Now if a guy can't buy me something as simple and reasonable as a dinner, I will tell him goodbye your not worthy of my time.

You clearly need to focus on your own life. You need to get your SELF out of your financial situation. That means focus on your own career, your own education, your own way.
Men (and most women, but apparently not you!) have realized that if they are the "hero" who gets a lot of credit for "saving" the woman and rescuing her from things like bad financial habits or irresponsibility, will quickly get BLAMED by the same woman when something else in HER LIFE that's really HER RESPONSIBILITY goes wrong. For example, I dated a woman who wanted me to be prince charming and take all the actions and complete responsibility for all the plans and direction for the relationship.. and I did, until she thought i was too controlling or making bad decisions or what.
Basically it's like sitting on your fat butt on the couch and yelling at your favorite team and thinking that you make a difference by doing that. No, you don't get anywhere in life by giving control of your life and happiness over to someone who is going to SAVE you.
Save yourself. If you don't, you're short cited and low class.

Sounds like you need a better job. Don't depend on a man to get you things out of life. You have to work for them it's a better gratification if you do it for yourself. My friend is the same way she still lives at home at the age of 35. She thinks a man is going to sweep her off her feet and give her the world. Sorry but that isn't life. You have to work for what you want and need. It sounds like your just looking for materialistic stuff. You better rethink your morals here. Good luck!
