How did we multiply?

If god created adam and eve, and between them they had caine and abel, how did the population grow? Surely, that would have been the end of it.

Views on the Bible have only become literal in the past few centuries. The teachings in this book were originally created as metaphors to help people understand the teachings. It serves the same purpose as a fairy tale. There WERE other people, The Earth did not just start in seven days, that part was to explain the Sabbath day, just like Adam and Eve was a teaching on how knowledge can be bad and Cain and Abel is a lesson on loving one another and not being jealous. There are so many meanings that can be drawn from the Bible and you must remember, it was written by Man. Most stories were used to instill fear in the audience (so the leaders of the world could use it's power as a system of law and morality.) Religion, if you forget about a deity, is all about how to live your life and better yourself.

Adam and Eve lived a long life, and had many generations of children. Until the Levictical Law came into operation, where close families were not allowed to sleep with each other, this was the case.

Although it is unlawful and un-natural to have sexual relations with our families, we are after all, related to Adam and Eve!

Some say that Lilith is wife of Satan after his fall.

The bible does not say he did not create other people as well. As a matter, did the world not go back to a few when Noah had the flood and they repopulated.

The story of Adam and Eve is a morality story, its all to do with human behaviour and weakness. It does not have to be taken literally.

Incest! Actually, the truth is, god didn't create Adam and Eve. God doesn't even exist. There were many humans that evolved from apes.

Incest causes terrible mutation and retardation as there is not enough 'new' genetic information to create the offspring, its a bit like photocopying a photocopy.
