One pound of fat equals 3500 calories....so to loose you have to create a calorie deficit of around 500 calories a day (below what your body needs - see the link below to calculate daily caloric need). Do NOT go below 1200 calories a day or you will send your body into starvation mode and literally shut your metabolism down. Also avoid refined carbohydrates like white bread, white pasta, and sweets. You have to eat a balanced diet (see the link to MyPyramid.gov). Be patient, and keep up the good work and you should start to have slow and steady weight loss (1-3 pounds a week). If the weight continues to linger consider scheduling a doctor appointment to make sure you don't have a thyroid or metabolic disorder. Keep up the good work and don't beat yourself up...slow and steady wins the race!

Try this for a month and if done properly you can lose from 20-35 pounds:
1) eat healthy meals only (drink lots of water-no pop or fast food)
2) run every day for 15 minutes in the early morning
3) do 100 crunches and 15 pushups per day
4) between watching television, get up and run on the spot until the commercial's over
5)only have 3 square meals (don't overeat) per day, and one snack of fruit
6) go for a 15 min. walk in the evening
Hope you try this weight loss loser!

You havent done enough to have the lack of wieght loss be due to mucle gain. People use that excuse al lthe time to make themselves feel better.
It does take some time to see some results. But I would question your diet, if you havent lost any weight. Many people start exercising and bc of that dont watch their calorie intake. They think as long as they exercise they can eat what they want, or are pretty clueless about how many calories they actually consume(that was me when i started working out)
If you really want to start dropping the weight, keep doing what your doing(but every month ramp up the intesity or time as your body will soon adjust) and cut 500 calories a day from your diet.

Sometimes it takes longer than expected to see changes. What happens is that your body is adapting now to an abrupt change from a lazy metabolism to a faster one. Your metabolism is going to catch up speed slowly while your body starts deintoxicating; after you reach that first step, losing weight and muscles increment will be easier but keep your pace. Your muscles are going to grow and getting shape according with the combination of exercises and ammount of resting time.Remember, if you slow down with the exercise or correct diet or start bad habits again your metabolism slows down also and muscles grow slower. It's difficult to tell how long is going to take to see the difference because everybody is different. Protein could also make a difference because the protein replaces muscles broken tissues with new bigger & solid tissue. Keep up and achieve the goal, TIME is the key. Good luck!

You may not lose any weight for a little while, you may even gain a little, but thats just the muscle building up and taking place of what you are losing. Don't worry in a month or so you should start dropping some pounds, I too am trying to lose weight. Good Luck

How many pounds are you trying to lose? Have you been counting your calories? Do you eat before you sleep?
I just lost 18 lbs. by limiting my caloric intake to 2000 calories and doing exercise 3 times a week over a period of 12 weeks. If you combine a diet and exercise that would take away 3500 calories over 1 week, you should lose 1 lb. per week.
Perhaps your weight training is adding muscle mass and weight that you would have otherwise lost.

As with more answers..
slow the pace down, to fast and you won't burn fat, just glycogen in the muscle, your body needs oxygen to burn fat so if your out of breath, your not getting the oxygen you need.....
And from experience cycling is good for this, try medium pace for at least 1 hours ride 3-4 times a week.....
Good luck....

10 minutes is not enough time for you body to start burning fat instead of carbohydrates. You usually need at least one hour exercise before your body starts burning fat.
Low-energy exercize might be better than high-energy exercize. Once your body starts burning fat instead of carbohydrates, you have to slow down anyway. Burning fat is just not that efficient for the muscles (which is why athletes use these sugary "sports" drinks).
