I'm looking for a well skilled wedding photographer in L.A. who doesn't charge and arm and a leg but does phenominal work. Must be good at capturing great candids. Any amount of help would be wonderful!

Unfortunately, being in LA, you are going to come across some high priced photographers. It comes with hiring one in a big city.

I'd suggest going with a photographer who is recognized as a professional by other photographers and not just a 'self-claimed' photographer.

Check out organizations such as PPA (Professional Photographers of America) at www.ppa.com. Use the link below to view a list of all PPA members in the LA area: http://www.ppawebapps.com/findv4.asp?debug=N&firstname=&lastname=&studioname=&city=&MetroArea=LOSANG&state=+&zip=&AreaCode=&country=&specialty=A&hits=9999&sort=N&nameid=0

As far as paying someone to travel in to photograh your wedding, that's a pretty rediculous idea as travel is outrageous right now and paying someone to drive is a ludicrous idea.

Import a reputable photographer from an outlying area that has a much lower cost of living than Southern Cal. You can probably come out better by paying the photographer's travel expenses on top of his regular fee than by hiring in LA. Make it a working vacation for some talented but bored photographer who is looking to add an exotic shoot to his portfolio.

Just think, how many East Coast photographers can brag that they got called to LA to shoot? For that matter, how many LA couples can say that they hired one of the best photographers from the East Coast?
