Great question, Katie. I know you will get a lot of smart answers, but let me just share my own small thought. I believe that most women want what they call romance because it is the dreamy feeling of being so bonded with another person that the lines between you begin to blur. Or so it seems. But in truth, love has no blurry lines at all. You can not be in love if you "lose" yourself into someone else. Love is for adults. It takes two equal partners. So romance is the game we play to test whether love can be real with the person we feel attracted to. Romance is the light of the candle that attracts us. Love is the flame that never dies.

when ur really in love with someone u can't breathe without them. they are like a drug to u!
being in love with the romance is a short spell tht only lasts for a short time! wen the romance ends the loves gone however if u love someone it doesnt even matter if they go away u still love them. smwhere . smhow.

You know if you really love someone,if they are all you can think of all day long.. If the person you are with makes you feel whole, if you sit down and think of this person, and they are the one you can imagine doing things with them for a very long time, even with all their faults, then you are in love.

Good question. They are definitely not one in the same. Time is the only true test for me personally. Give yourself enough time to know if you can accept all their faults and flaws. If your feelings are the same once you've seen this person at their worst then it's love.

If you worry and think about him all day, then you love him. If you like other guys and think about things you could do with them, you love romance itself.

I've gone through this.
I wanted love, and it turned out that I was all over him and not worring about him or anything else.

Wait until that person gets sick or until they go through some kind of crisis. The way you react to those situations tells you if you are in love with that person.
