you need to know what Science really is and then your question/ statement can be answered easier.
The study of mythology as a matter fo fact is covered by a host fo scientific branches.

Science ( by definition not always by practice) is to observe a condition or an effect and put that condition or effect in corelation with existing knowledge and facts. Science does not disprove mythology or Christianity, Both are important elements of human history and sociological development.
The lack of proof does not mean a theory or conditon does not mean something is disproven.
But let's take an example: Dragons. Dragons are mythological beasts everyone knows. Everyone has a clear definition what a dragon looks like. There are Dragons and dragon like creatures in the mythology of many cultures.

Now, no one in recent history has ever seen a dragon or found remains of one, so does Science say there are no Dragons?

No! Science says there is no evidence Dragons existed in the forms described.
(true science makes a difference between categorically and terminal conclusion and lack of evidence) Also natural laws of aerodynamics, physics and chemistry make certain aspects of what Dragons supposed to do impossible, but that is not to say that the Mythology of dragons is not based on a kernel of truth and that our anchestors experienced or observed events they could not explain with the terminology and scientific knowledge of that time.
In order for a scientist to tackle the problem of the Dragon myth one would have to gather all myths , examine them find commonoligy, try to find the source of the myth by region or area , co-relate the wandering of ethnic groups and the mingling of stories with other cultures...etc.
So a feasible theory of the origin of dragon myths can be formed that includes scientific elements such as biology, aerchological finds etc.
Same with any other myth or religion. The existence of God or no god is not a subject that can be answered at the current point by a scientist. due to the lack of evidence. Creation or evolution...? One does not exclude the other....only interpretation of faith and religion does.

i'm no longer a theist. i'm a physiologist. there have been circumstances of girls folk (some with intact hyman) generating an ovum with an finished set of chromosomes that implanted and produced a genetic a useless ringer for the mum. the prospect exists that such an adventure could also contain a mutation of an X to a Y chromosome, or that the mum produced a extreme factor of testosterone and the fetus masculinized in spite of two Y chromosomes. i'm no longer putting forward it has handed off, i'm putting forward that's scientifically plausible. Worshiping God could also produce an result, perchance an additional desirable than will be predicted from placebo. there is a few information to point this. this does no longer exhibit the existence of God, purely the means of concept. historic human beings ought to have had some recognize-how of this. they could actually have considered that the overall populous had complication utilising this means abstractly, and that innovations like Gods and Angels gave the will concentration to make the technique artwork for them. Then the most objective grew to grow to be a level of competition, and right here we are. So no matter if I agree that the Abrahamic idea structures are indefensible, they could (like another faith) factor to at least some thing of fee.

Science can only disprove- what we are left with are the most plausable and possible results. Science uses method, experiments and conclusions based on what we know physically - it's the closest thing to solid proof as apposed to stories and ideas passed down through generations. Such tales can easily be translated incorrectly, manipulated, and misunderstood, especially over hundreds of years.

Science does not disprove Christianity. Science has never proven Jesus was not a historical figure, nor that there is no God, nor that God didn't raise Jesus and Lazarus from the dead. Science cannot prove God does not exist. Science can prove, however, that the gods and Titans did not create the world. Bye Bye Greek Mythology. Hello, Christianity!

Self Fulling Prophecy, it depends on who asks the question and who does the research.

We all look for answers to support our own questions, some ignore all other possibilities in the process.

Belief is belief no matter what you believe (sounds corny I know), we all need something to believe in, whether it be science or spiritual.

The key is what we do with our beliefs, do we use them to harm or do we use them to do good.

Hope that helped or at the very least made sense.

I don't think science disproves either. If you go get a copy of the journal Science or the journal Nature, you can see that none of the articles are about Apollo or Aphrodite or Isis or YHWH. Certainly not about whether or not they exist.

Science doesn't disprove Christianity. It offers an plausible alternative for people who don't want God to exist.

Science (and logic in general) does not prove anything except within the range of the assumptions or axioms.

If you accept the axioms of modern science, many things in mythology are "impossible."

If your axioms are based on the literal truth of the Bible, what is the problem?

There's just one hole in the thinking that science is everything. To go along with it, you have to asume that man knows everything.

Everytime man thought he knew everything, someone came along and disproved what everyone thought was already proven.
