This mother needs to get a life! I read the article in our local London paper this morning. These children are too young to be in the house on their own using the stove, cooking their own meals. She is wasting her time camping out on her front lawn in a tent when she should be taking some parenting lessons IMO!

It sounds to me like the parenting classes would have been helpful 12 years ago. I do not think that they are to young to be in the house alone since their mother is in the front yard. I also doubt that they are doing anything besides making an even bigger mess of the house she wants clean. If she has all of the sudden decided to give her kids a life lesson maybe THEY should be the ones living in the front yard. I just had my 7 year old daughter read this with me and she thinks that maybe they should "have been taught a little better when they were smaller because teenagers don't listen to anyone." Straight from the mouth of babes. Whew at least mines got some sense! LOL It will be a cold day when my kids drive ME out of my own home. Quite a story.

Well I sort of disagree. By erecting a tent in the front yard she is neglecting her children I agree and its not appropriate behavior. However, a 10 year old and a 14 year old are perfectly knowledgable that their attitude sucks (probably in part due to the way they were raised), however, not completely due to the way they were raised. By their age they have a lot of outside influences like other children. It only takes one bad friend to make a bad kid. Also, a 10 and 14 year old should be able to handle household chores including cooking, except this should be done under the parents supervision which is obviously lacking....people never stop amazing me....if someone did that in our country they would be in jail....as they probably should be

I think your wrong. I think what she is doing is great. Maybe her kids will learn some respect and see how good they have it. the oldest is 14 that is plenty old to be using the stove thats a high school kid, I used to cook younger then that. Besides Im sure they are eating out of the fridge making sandwiches and stuff. I bet when they don't have any clean clothes to wear to school and no one to make them a hot meal they might change their ways. I say go mom!

I think she should quit her whining and do her job!!! Her children are not cleaning their rooms, not doing homework etc simply because she is allowing them to not do it.Furthermore she is showing them that they are in control of her and not she them.Children will often times test the waters to see what they can get away with and exactly how far their parents will let them go.It is our duty as parents to set the limits, and if they choose to cross the line there should be consequences, and us going on stike is not it!She is a sorry excuse for a mother and I agree..she does need some parenting classes along with a good slap into reality.

She should have been more strict on them at a younger age. This would never have happened. She left it too long and now is rewarding them by letting them have the run of the house. Yeah right that will work

No they are not to young to have to take some responsibility. Maybe she should call Nanny 911.

I disagree with her.

If she had been a better parent to begin with, she wouldn't be raising disrespectful children, and she wouldn't have this problem on her hands.

I think she should not have kids or stop being the child and be the mother, and I mean BE THE MOTHER!

I think that's great...way to show her kids how she deserves to be treated. I mean it's not like they are five or six years old. She's doing a great thing!
