I'm looking to buy an 05' vehicle from an online site. I'm worried it might be a car from New Orleans and its had flooding. I remember the news telling consumers there may be such a scam. What can I do the check its not from that disaster area? Will carfax tell me that info, if what should I look for in the report? Thanks.

Most all those cars will have a Salvage Title, some are for sale now in the Auto Trader, and yes you can run a VIN check to see where the car has been- Your Insurance agent will probably do it , ask him for a Copy.

Honey? I wouldn't even think about a car from New Orleans. Once a vehicle is submerged in any kind of water, it is never right again.
