Electric manual switch's can have plat on them but it is rare as plat is so expensive.
It will only be used at high amp contact points do to its ability to withstand high temp from the arcing of current. old phone switching controlers (click bang switch) used plat to make them last longer, but now its done all by computer. So most have been scraped.
