No one knows the actual ingrediants. They just show up once a week in a Hostess warehouse. They are beamed there from outer space.

A government experiment gone wrong that is not worth all the junk they are pumped full of.. :o) j/k. They are sponge cake with cream filling inside. They are said to have a shelf life of 25 days, which is a good while compared to most baked goods. Supposedly 500 million are produced each year.

They are sponge cakes which are very sweet and quite overpowering! Tried one when I was in the states. A little too sweet but appealing to some people!
