A high white blood cell count can mean different things depending on just how high the count is. My mother-in-law for example had a WBC count over 475,000. They diagnosed her with leukemia. Lower counts as over 10,000 can signify an infection. The best way to know is to ask your doctor.

A high WBC count usually signifies some sort of infection. You could have the flu or something more serious. Have you have mono before? A high WBC count is pretty non-specific, so the infection can be many things. I hope this helps.
