If so do they get along well with dogs and other cats? I am getting one this afternoon.

Hi there...you will enjoy being owned by Sphynx kitty. They are very interested in everything you are doing and will follow you like a puppy. They do get along with other pets so long as you make the introduction gradually by keeping the new kitty separate from the other pets for a few days. Let them get used to smelling one another from underneath a door then when it's time to open it carefully supervise the meeting.

Keep in mind the Sphynx doesn't have the adequate protection of a fur coat like other cats and dogs, so they can get easily scratched since their skin is very exposed under their peachy fuzzed coat.

I think how a cat behaves and reacts to certain things is more a matter of nurture than nature. If you're getting a kitten and it will be raised around other cats and dogs, I don't see why there would be a problem.

My vet has two of them.
He also has about 5 dogs and they are from very small maltese up to a huge great dane. And has three or 4 cats.
They all get along fine.
