I am in my mid 20's and I have a myspace to keep in touch with family and friends. (Yes, I might be too old for myspace).

When we have a baby I would like to post a picture so everyone can see our baby.

Do you think its safe to post a picture of your newborn on myspace?

I am going to set it on private so only my friends can see my profile.

I have 30 people on my friends list and I know them all personally.

I think it's fine. I have a myspace- and I don't think you're too old for myspace. You're probably the same age as me! Anyway- I also use it to keep in touch with family and friends, and to find friends I've lost touch with, and I have pics of my kids on there.

My cousin does. I will. Just be smart about the personal information you put on there...they can't find you from a picture but they can locate you if you have a phone number or an address or pictures that show where you live...

BTW...I hope you're not too old for myspace at "mid 20's" cause then I'm really too old for myspace in my Mid 30's....lol

It is safe if you do it safely. I posted a pic of my kids on my mysapce, but I did not put there name, or where I am from on the post. I have also used a nick name for them, and friends and family know who they are and the people I know less well knows them as their nick names.

You can also make your myspace private, so people can view your pictures unless you are friends. You have to approve them.

I also use blogspot. I have mine as private so I have to give people my link they can't even link from someone elses. I put sitemeter on it, so it tracks who looks at my site with ip addresses, on the off chance something does happen, i have documentation.

I have tons of pictures of my son on myspace and it's not set to private. I don't have the state/city I live in though. Just take the proper precautions and I'm sure you'll be fine!

If your profile is private, sure. I know plenty of people that have public profiles and still post pictures of their newborns, but I can see how it could be a concern. You never know what kind of weirdo's are looking around and see a cute baby and want to make it theirs...

I say with a private profile, go for it.

yeah. there is nothing wrong with it. even if a stranger could get acsess to your baby's picture, what can they do with it? I mean the most that they can do it print it out. That isn't gonna hurt anything (that may be a little bit creepy and weird lol). But sure, go ahead and post it.

I think as long as your profile is private and you know everyone who is viewing you page then it would be okay.
