In my city they offer it,but you have to be on welfare and the father has to be on child support. There is usually a waitng list for the pre-k and early headstart programs. So they tell you to sign-up for pre-k when your child turns 3,but they can't actually go until they are four years old. They also won't give you childcare assistance if you are unemployed.

yes, it's available
I don't know about it firsthand, but I've heard they will go after the father for child support before they assist with childcare expenses.

If you are looking for it...go to your local Job and Family Services, they can give you an application. If you qualify, they will set you up with a center.

if you need help with child care or are asking for it, go ask the department of health... they will direct you to where you need to go. They are the main place to direct you becasue each state has a different place to go for it.
