...for a pear type shaped body.

i have broad shoulders, 34 b sized breasts, the biggest part of me is my thighs/saddlebag/hips area.

my messurments as of today are: 34, 29, 39. im only 5'1in. tall.

ive been working out, trying to reduce and tone up my bottem half lol.

im thinking that a strapless, a-lined dress would be best but im not sure. what so you all think?

As a hint for the working out your lower body - at least 15 mins of hard work on an exercise bike about 4 times a week does great for toning down your bum and saddlebags (speaking from experence here - combined with a sensible diet of course but don't starve yourself).

For your height and as your shape is pear definitely go with non-fussy especially on the bottom half of the dress otherwise you'll be drawing attention to rather taking attention away from your lower half.

I typed in how to dress a pear shaped body to goggle and got this advise on which are the best shaped dresses:
- Look for dresses that nip in at the waist and slightly flare out
over hips and thighs.
- You can pull off a full-skirted ballgown because it will hide heavy
hips and thighs.
- Try sleeveless and strapless dresses to play up pretty
shoulders and arms.
- An empire, or raised waist dress brings the eye up away from
problem areas. Careful, though. Sometimes this gets mistaken
for a maternity look with fuller figures

From your description of yourself something strapless with a full plain skirt should be nice or if not strapless (as it says above) v-shaped would be flattering and show some cleavage drawing the eye up to your upper body.

Good luck and have a wonderful time on the day, wishing you both a lifetime of happiness.

I bet you'd look great in the strapless A-line. Seems like you already know what you're doing! I'm also a pear-shaped girl (and the same bra size) and I wore an off-the-shoulder, fitted through the middle, fluffy A-line dress. Girls with saddlebags look AWFUL in heavy, beady, fitted dresses that cling to the hips. Especially clingy things cut on the bias! If you have broad shoulders, I'd definitely go with a strapless because it will allow freedom of movement during the rigorous pictures, ceremony and reception. I have narrow shoulders, and my off-the-shoulder dress barely allowed me to reach up and light the unity candle!

Since you're petite, I'd choose a dress that's not too huge (not a "snow beast" dress). It's easy to be overpowered by a wedding gown, and you want people to see how beautiful you are--not just the dress.

Good luck and have a great time shopping!

I also have broad shoulders and a pear shape.

I wore a strapless a-line dress but put straps on it because I've never worn strapless and wasn't comfortable in it. I found that the dresses with sleeves weren't cut right for broad shoulders and made me look like a football player.

I definately think you're looking at the most flattering and feminine style for you.

Pear-shaped Brides
For the pear-shaped bride, a wedding gown which draws attention to the upper body and creates a look of balance between the shoulders and fuller lower body is best. A tank-style bodice, an off-the-shoulder wedding gown, or a sweetheart neckline with textured surfaces and decoration on the edges all help draw the eye upward. If the pear-shaped bride's waist is narrow, then she may consider a drop waist bodice with beaded trim to further minimize the hips. Pear-shaped brides should probably avoid clingy fabrics and straight wedding gown styles which will only enhance the imbalance between the shoulders and hip-line.

A lined is very flattering for most people. The strapless look is flattering as well. You should really go to a bridal store and try on different styles of dresses so you can see what looks best on your body.

An A-lined dress is perfect for you. Do not wear a strapless one but one where the straps are off the shoulder. You will look gorgeous, I promise.

Definitely a-line. It will cover your "bad" spots, just like mine! :) If you think you have broad shoulders, don't get a halter it will make them look wider. Try somethign that has little cap sleeves or something to go around the top of your arm.

Don't go with strapless - that's not good for someone your height. If you at least have cap sleeves, that will help elongate your silhouette. By the measurements, you sound proportioned fine, so you should be able to wear any style. Just don't overdo it with the frou-frou - you don't want it to overwhelm you!

I had mine made. I got to chose the style I wanted. It fit me perfect, so I didnt have "alterations" cheaper but just as beautiful! I had a strapless dress that looked folded down in the front with princess seams. beatiful.

go to a bridal shop and try on a hundred different styles til you find the one you like. and hopefully the sales person will be friendly and honest with you. It wouldnt hurt to take along a good friend who'll tell you the truth about how it looks even if its not pleasant to hear.

and congrats on your big day!!!
