No, it's a textbook case of multiple personality disorder. After all, he himself claims to be three different entities.

Read the last book. There is plenty of smiting and wrath and punishment. The thing is he gives direct instructions on how to avoid it. In the Old Testament we have only a part of the picture, and there is forgiving, and loving, and kindness there too, all over the place. You might try reading it instead of just skimming through.

Jesus kind of address this question when he talked about the people during the time of Moses and described them as "hard of heart." In the Old Testament, the people were like toddlers in the eyes of God, their Father. In the New Testament and with the gift of the Holy Spirit and the example of Jesus, we are more like adults (or at least older children-haha!):
A good father doesn't explain to his 2-year-old son why he shouldn't cross the road without looking both ways first. The son isn't yet capable yet of fully understanding. But when the son gets older, the good father can explain about cars hitting him and the possibility of his getting hurt or dying--not only that, but a good father will explain that to his son for his son's own good.
God the Father didn't change from the Old Testament to the New, we changed.
Thanks for reading. God Bless!

Maybe he's like Billy Jack. You know - "don't make me angry. You won't like me when I'm angry." Or was that the Hulk? Hmm....
I think perhaps the OT was like a big old temper tantrum - throwing things, wrath left and right - and then the NT was after he'd had his hissy fit and calmed down.
Just a couple of thoughts.

The residing God of the OT (as you position it) continuously presented mercy before judgment, continuously. He favourite mercy over judgment, besides the undeniable fact that, some chosen no longer to settle for it. because Jesus died on the bypass for our sins, judgment will now come both after we die...or in His 2d coming. The residing God is an analogous the day exceeded by, in the present day and day after today.

You're talking about multiple personality disorder, not schizophrenia.
Does God have MPD? No.
Old covenant, new covenant. Do you accuse people of having schizophrenia, when you really mean MPD, when they make one agreement and then make a new one that supercedes the old?

The OT was written before he nailed Mary. The NT after. Seems to reason......

Nah... I don't think he has schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder. I think he has a cosmic case of PMS.
