I know it was a line in Good Will Hunting, but it's from someone/somewhere before that and I was hoping someone out there might know. Who said it first? When was this? Be sure to cite your source (literature, stand-up comedy, etc.. and/or website as well) if you have one.

OK, maybe it is "How do you like them apples?" You know what I'm talking about, tho. Still looking for origin..!

Sigh.. OK, I found the answer. It just took me longer than usual! Here it is:
"In World War I, something called a Stokes gun fired mortars resembling apples with a stick in them, so they were often referred to as Toffee Apples. In the movie Rio Bravo in 1959, a guy tosses a hand grenade and says "How do ya like them apples?"

If you are visiting this question right now, go ahead and leave me an answer anyway.. I'll give you the 10 points if it's better than any others! Don't worry about whether it's on topic or not. (Otherwise, looks like Answerer #1 is the only one in the running so far for the points..)

Well, with a good bit of "hunting" , I think it may go back further than that -- but be even more illusive! LOL!
From a thread I have followed:
"How do you like them apples?
[Meaning] An idiomatic expression is used to express surprise or shock at something that has happened. It can also be used to boast about something you have done.
-English Idiom Dictionary.
How do you like them apples?
[Possible history(?)] In World War I, something called a Stokes gun fired mortars resembling apples with a stick in them, so they were often referred to as Toffee Apples.
-Urban Dictionary.
Edit-

I love me some imdb.com! =]
Paha! That's true."
Anyway, the "first" listing is elsewhere attributed to "Random House Dictionary of Popular Proverbs and Sayings" by Gregory Y. Titelman with this addition "means “So there! What do you have to say now? What are you going to do about it? Used ironically since the late 1920s", which is why I say it is earlier than your finding. However, it gives no explanation of the origin of the phrase, whatsoever!! So, no closer to the answer, I think.
And, of course, if you hunted for this, you *KNOW* you are not the only one wondering -- the threads are amazing!! My favorite so far is the one below -- though I really love the ones that totally assume that the phrase was *made up* just for the Good Will Hunting movie and has no history before that (LOL!!).
Anyway, just my two cents.

it depends if he's a beach type guy and if he's really got a nice body on those tan lines... boy, do all girls would want that! but if he's the contrary of these, i doubt if that would be irresistable enough in any way.

A lot of our Grandfathers said this phrase (mine was from the south) And I am a grandfather now. So it goes way back before all you Jits.
