i would call the vet and let them know, but its probably just from the pain killers they gave her. make sure she drinks water. if she's supposed to take more meds, make sure she eats first, it might help.

It's not unusual for some dogs to vomit after surgery; they're expelling the remnants of the anesthsia and pain medications they were given.
To help your dog, however, you can stop her food for a day, to give her stomach a little time to settle down. Then feed her a bland diet of boiled rice and hamburger for a few days. The rice will fill her up and soothe her stomach. Slowly start adding her regular food to the rice mixture until she's back on her regular diet.
Make sure she always has access to water, and give her a some Pedialyte to replace the electrolytes she lost during vomiting.
We also suggest that you get a rectal thermometer and take her temperature. ("Normal" for dogs is around 100 -101 degrees.) If her temperature is over 101, call her vet. She may have gotten an infection.

I hope the vets office told you to keep her movements restricted until the stitches come out. They should have also told you that you should limit her food and water intake for the first day that she is home. If she continues to vomit I would take her back to the vet, but most of the time dogs vomit is because the owner gets them home and lets them return to normal activity level, and food, and water level. Until the stitches come out dogs should not run, jump, or be very active. This causes swelling, and may cause the dog to vomit. Good luck.

Benadryl. Probably an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. I have one that is allergic. Make sure she has plenty of water because benadryl may make her thirsty. I give ice cubes so as not to upset the stomach with too much water at once.
I have only had a few that were allergic to the anesthesia and youwant to remember this reaction in case she has to be sedated again.

Monitor her closely. Most likely the above answer is correct, and it's just a side effect of the anesthesia (which will pass). However, if she continues to vomit or appears to be dehydrated or lethargic, get her to the vet immediately.

No worries, just the effects of the medication from the surgery. Give her water and she'll be fine in a day or two.
