My 18 month old daughter keeps taking all of her clothes and her diaper off. The just pulls her diaper off, she doesn't take off the velcro. I was wondering if any other moms have had this problem and what you did to stop your child from doing this.

AGAIN, my daughter just pulls the diaper off. The velcro stays in tact. I have tried to put the diaper on as tight as I could without it being uncomfortable for her but she still manages to just pull her diapers off.

When you said velcro, I get the image of you using cloth diapers of some sort.
You can always try putting the diaper on backwards which makes it more difficult to get to the velcro, but then you said it was still in tact.
It sounds to me like you need to grow that child of yours some hips, LOL.
The velcro might not be coming undone but it may be loosening enough to let her slide the diaper off. You might try using some pins in it when you put it on backwards so that she may not be able to stretch the waist band enough to slip them off.
Another way would to be to put on a pair of snug fitting shorts or something like that over the diaper. That's, of course, if you really want to keep her in diapers.
Otherwise it sounds like it may be time to at least try to start potty training her. Little girls train younger than boys do normally and at 18 months, it really isn't too young for her.
If she is wearing cloth diapers then she will train younger than if she were wearing disposables because she can feel the wet and they get uncomfortable and she wants to get out of them as quickly as she can. Disposables always feel dry so the baby doesn't feel the discomfort as easily.
Good luck to you both.

Ok - potty training, maybe. Some girls are ready that early. But, if she's not don't freak out about it. She will be ready when she is ready. My little boy took his diaper off around that age and his Nana laughed - A LOT. So, he thought he would do it again for more laughs. She could be ready to potty train. Or she could just be intrigued by other people's response to her pulling it off.
And the duct tape will work. LOL

Number one...taking off her diaper is normal, my son does it all the time...and unlike what everyone is saying, it doesn't mean she's ready to be potty trained. It may just mean she's just comfortable that way, or she likes the fact that she's able to do it. When my son first discovered he could pull his diaper off, it was hard getting him to stay dressed even in public. He decided it was time to strip down at a family gathering at the zoo. I found it's best to distract them...but that's if you can catch them in the act. My son took to hiding behind the chair in the livingroom to do it so I couldn't see him. If we're at home, I just let him do it now because nothing really stops it. It's just a phase, and she'll grow out of it. He's down to doing it maybe once a week now because I stopped making a big deal out of it. So he knows he's not being cute by doing it now.

LOL. It's just them being curious and independant. My kids all did something like this at one point. Some people says it means they are ready to be potty trained...I tried that and it never went over well! I would just put it back on them again and again and not make a big deal out of it...or else it could get worse. Try pants you think she can't get off...like with buttons or overalls. Or plastic diaper covers...sometimes they can't get those off themselves. She's just learning something new! They get over it eventually. lol...good luck! :)

Yep, it's time to introduce your little Princess to the potty. The running around naked is so normal. Don't you wish you could do the same sometimes, heehee? If she does it in public, I would think to put overalls on her. My daughter has started the up and take off at diaper time. Good luck & enjoy your baby!!!

If she is able to pull the diaper off she is telling you she is ready to be potty trained. I would start this process immediately. Good Luck to both of you.

Try the potty or you could buy pull ups instead of conventional nappies that way your child will have to master the pulling down part which can only help in later potty training

I would potty train her now, or at least start the process. She is apparently ready for it and then you won't have to worry about her taking off her diaper anymore.

If she is pulling her diaper off that is a sign that she is ready to begin potty training.

i agree with the person who said it might be time to potty train her. My little boy did that for awhile until I had him sit on the potty. He loved it! Really it's her way of saying "I am independent now (she thinks) and I can take my diaper off, and my mommy can't stop me!!!"
