It sits in the lob between the bone and outside of the canal. It doesnt bleed or doesnt burst, its just a large red spot that painfully hurts. What could it be? Its not weeping, just soar red.

Hi these are know as boils, they do burst eventually when they come up red and sore they fill up with green puss, my boyfriend has one ans it never goes away the thing is he has got his ear pierced so it tends to come out of the hole, but it is massive for ages and pain full. Its in the middle of his earlobe. He went to the doctors and he said it will never go away and he will have to have a little operation on it to get it all out, but he will loose half of his ear lobe. So unless you find out what it is, you may have it for life.

I think you will find it is a swollen blackhead. Scratch hard and knock the head off. Then place a crumpled up tissue on the weeping spot to absorb the pus.

It sounds like a boil to me. If it gets too unbearable go to the doctor and he'll lance it. May come to a head on it's own though. Dab some tcp on it.

It really is likely just a spot - like you would get on your face - cause inside your ear is skin too... but yes, really sore... and I bet you keeping prodding it to see if it still hurts!

It may be a pimple. In that case, dab some acne cream on it.
