Yes, and my fiancee and I have decided to go that route.
We have very many friends in common. We have really great friends, and they are all a lot of fun. We all get along well, and my fiancee and I decided it would be more fun to have one huge blowout.
My fiancee is divorced, and for his first marriage, had a stag. Sort of. A bunch of his buddies took him out drinking and to the strip club, and he really didn't have much fun.
We want to spend it will all of our really great friends, it's no fun to segregate!

I've been to one, it was great fun. It was a weekend in a camping barn in the pennines, with large amounts of alcohol. If the couple have a lot of friends in common, and they're not expecting too much in the way of typical stag or hen night style debauchery (strippers would be off the menu then...) it would be fun. however, saying that, I've enjoyed stag only nights more and I had a stag night, not a joint party.
So, if both parties want to do that, go for it, but only if both of you want to do it like that

defiantly why not it could be just as much fun, a stag or hen night was meant to be a drink or meal with friends yes of the same sex but now they seem to go on for days if not weeks. so why not have a change and go out all together

I don't seem to get out on girls' nights out as much as I used to these days, or especially get all my female friends together at the same time, so I'm really looking forward to having a night out with them.
I can have a night out with my fiancé and joint friends any time and frequently do - a hen night is just going to be a special night with my friends. As for my fiancé having a stag night, well I completely trust him, so I'm not bothered about him and his mates out at all!

I would, but my b/f would not, he is not having a typical stag do with strippers etc, he is going for a night out with his brother to a club. If I found out any strippers were involved I would get down to the nearest club that does naked male dancers and give him a taste of his own medicine. He would have a joint party, but only after he had his own night out.

My personal opinion is that they should be kept seperate as tradition but more and more people are having them joint. If you are up for your partner seeing you in a real state and probably saying or doing something that you regret later then I think that it would be ok.. It could be a bad omen though.

We actually all started out together and ate dinner. Then went our separate ways to have separate parties. Then we met back up at a local bar and finished the night together. From what I remember from that night I had more fun at the bar.

we did
i got married to a german girl and here it is "normal" to have a joint party "polter-abend"
your guests come and smash crockery at the door, and you have to sweep it all up (ok, may sound daft, but it was good)

As long as we are into the same things and can really enjoy the party, why not? It could be fun.
