I knew a couple like this in my past. I think it is totally wrong. I don't see this lasting long with such a generational difference. Besides, it seems like a father and daughter relationship which is kind of bizarre to me.

It can work. Just by looking at the wording of the question. The "guy" probably doesn't act or feel 40 and the "woman" probably acts and feels older than 19. Sometimes you fall in love before you know someone's age. So finding out their age doesn't make a difference or make it wrong.

As long as they both love each other, then its fine. The girl can learn a lot from the man, and the man can feel back in his youth. Just because it isn't common doesn't mean that it is immoral. Really, just try to list why it is wrong-- good, legitimate reasons on why it could prove harmful. There are not many reasons. The only ones I can think of are that the man might think of himself as superior that his wife b/c he is older, or he might impose rules saying he is more experienced, but this can be worked out through consultation. Of course it sounds odd, just like the english language is changing the spelling of through to thru.

I married at 18 to a 47 year old and I adored him. Unfortunately he was an alcoholic which made marriage difficult. It took nine years before I finally gave up and left him. He would now be in his 70's and I can assure you I would still love him to bits, if he had just not been quite so mysogonistic. I do still love him. I guess there was some sort of "father" complex there, but to me it was just good love. No man is "old" at 40 -50! Just reaching his prime, and his most attractive to women.

i think they should give it 3 or 4 years before marring because the guy is mature enough to make that choice but the girl has not even began to live her life yet but after a few years if they still want each other then go for it it is your life you know who you love and what makes you both happy

the guy can't obviously find someone in his life so he trys to go out with a 19 yr to make him seem cool and the girl is just desperate or needs some attention. but all together it's pretty sad

It is a bit weird. How would you handle that? The 19 year old girls parents are probably around the age of her husband. I don't think i really agree with it much

Its weird for me, i think a gap of 12 years max is acceptable, with both being older than 21.

I think it is way wrong! She's not even old enough to drink at her wedding and it makes him seem like a pedophile.

I don't think it could last. I mean he'll be 50 when she's 30. She'll dump him when he can't get it up anymore . . . of course there's always viagra!
