Yes. We had a Male Cat, neutered young. He could spray like a hose. They spray from a gland in the back. The first time that I saw Him do it was outside on a bush, marking His territory. I read where They have to keep remarking the area, and that other Cats can tell how old the spray is.

Yes, they can. We had a cat when I was a kid....he was neutered at 6 months, only to start spraying a year later. Looking back, I know it was caused by stress, but we didn't know that then.

Ours was neutered at 6-7 months,(which was what the vet had recommended). He had already started spraying, and yes, he still does it. We chase him if he tries it indoors, and he now only does it outside, so I think it is still better than one who wasn't neutered at all.
My mum says that you have to do them younger. This time round we neutered our kitten at about 3 months - a month later - so far so good.

I had a male that was neutered and he never sprayed...UNTIL......my neighbor gave me a fold up tent that smelled like his dogs. The cat got one whiff and sprayed. Then, from that day on, kept spraying here and there and wherever!! Had to let him go. I love cats...but refuse to have a home start to stink like cat piss from spraying all the time.
Yes...the spray after neutering.

Most cats, regardless of gender, will not spray if neutered fairly young. I've found that male cats who are neutered after sexual maturity do tend to at least *try* to spray, and some of them manage it.

I have 2 toms. One was neutered as a kitten, and one as an adult. They both spray (marking territory) I also have a female who was neutered as a kitten, who sprays. Febreeze and ceilings fans work wonders.

They can, especially if they are neutered after reaching puberty. And they don't necessarily have to. It's still a very good idea to do the neutering in any case.

Male cats sometimes do spray after being neutered. Besides, I might be wrong...but they don't "castrate" the cat anymore. So he still retains his testicles and all the hormones produced there in.

Yes. If something needs to be re-claimed as their territory, they will. So will some spayed females too. It is a reaction to change and a way to manage stress. The good news is, it doesn't smell so potent. And is temporary.
