If it's a condition of the court order then yes one has to be done. However if you're not under any court order to provide a sample for testing there's nothing to worry about. I would say that, if you are under a courts order to stay alcohol and drug free and there's reason to suspect you're violating that order then there might be a question as to if they can force you to submit.

Usually anytime you go into the emergency room, which I'm assuming you did after you were arrested for a DUI, you will get a drug test to make sure that you are not on anything. Even if you have no history of it what so ever. It's standard procedure, especially if it is an emergency situation and they don't want drugs to counteract with any meds that they may give you. My boyfriend got an DUI a few months ago and two years ago I fell and hit my head in the bathroom. We were both in the emergency room and we both had drug tests. Yes. It's normal.

Not only is it possible...it is practically standard procedure. The courts seem to think drugs and alcohol go hand-in-hand. If you were issued a ticket for DUI, at your court appearance, the judge could issue you to piss tests weekly, monthly, whatever...until trial or disposition of the case. You could be put on probation as part of your sentence and ordered the same for an extended period of time. Usually 6 months to a year.

Yep, when someone is on probation (which they usually are after being convicted of a dui) they can test you for drugs at anytime. What they do is take a urine test to see if any are in your system.

There are drug tests which use your hair or tissues that can test for the presence of drug chemicals in your system.
They can find drugs in your system up to a year after or longer.
Come chemicals do not degrade over time but become incorporated into your chemistry.

It is possible. There are too many variables to give any real detail. As far as what would happen with the test, that would depend on if it was done by a blood sample, urine sample, or mouth swab. Each is relative self explanatory.

more commonly drug tests are given to any crime. my neighbor got pulled over for drunk driving and he has to test monthly. i was charged with contempt of court for not paying fines and got random drug tests. the man wants to make sure you have been a good boy/girl. the differences between his and mine are his are mandatory once a month and i had to call a phone number and they called a color at random, if my color(assighned by the court) came up, i had to take a test.

That's going to be cute. Last words at sentencing, "Your honor, I'm cold sober right now, how about doing that drug test today?"
The judge would probably say, "You obviously aren't sober, either that or plain stupid--double the sentence" and he whams his gavel to say, done.
If someone too blood samples. If the samples were saved. If the suspected drug doesn't expire quickly, maybe, but it depends on those IFs.
