Been in the car business for the past 17 years and have done a good legal business during that period of time....I would not be able to survive with out repeat and referral on top of regular walk-ups......spent 11 years in Banking prior to that and really wish that I had started in it a lot sooner.....the characters your have all been talking about are still around with their fins just out of the water waiting to "pounce" on you.....they have probably been in the business for the past 20 years and have probably worked at 15 to 20 dealerships....they all know it and done it all and in the meantime have a divorce or two under their belt...maybe a bankruptcy and still dress in their leisure suits or in my area dressed like "Coke-Cola" Cowboys......I not perfect but if I keep you "completely satisfied" you might maybe send me a referral or two but if get you "completely dissatisfied" I promise that you will share that with more then one or two.......I apologize for all of bad ones and maybe next time you will get a good one

Car salesmen are the lowest slime on the bottom of a snakes butt as it crawls through the sewer of a Tijuana prison.

Car salesmen are the vampire bats of cash. Rising in the night to prey upon the unsuspecting and suck the very life force from their pockets with no remorse.

Car salesmen are bank robbers in cheap suits with a comb over instead of a mask.

People that are so low down dirty, nasty, unscrupulous and dishonest that they cant get a job with the Colombian Mafia become car salesmen.

A few good ones and a lot of sharks. My favorite was when I went to test drive an Altima once. Told him what we wanted, he lets us test drive a car and then comes back with a really good deal. It wasn't until I looked carefully that what he did was switch out the model we requested with a lower model (2.5 SL for a base). It had a much lower MSRP and that's why the price looked good on paper.

Needless to say, he lost a sale right then and there.

The just want to make money they dont care about us consumers.

Once in a Lincoln Dealership I went to buy a Town Car and trade in my Mercedes Benz G500. I wanted the Cartier edition. I took a test drive and he said it was only $30000 for an '06. When we went to the desk to buy the car I noticed it said '05 Town Car Executive Edition. The lowest type of the Town Car's.

When it came time for me to sign I took the paper and ripped it and dropped it at his desk and that was the end of that.

I actually feel a little bad for them. They're not bad people. They're out working hard trying to make a living. Some of them cross the line, but that goes with any salesperson.

One of mine tried to tell me that I "had" to buy the gap protection covereage, even though there was clearly an option to decline it on the form.

they swarm like flies when you are looking at a vehicle. Really I don't have anything against them, I know they are just doing their job. More they sell the more they make.

If you find a good one that you can trust (they are out there), don’t ever lose track of him.
