All have their place: grilled cheese sandwiches should always be on white bread, and rye is ideal for ham or salami. Whole wheat varieties make superior toast.

But, marshmallow-soft Texas Toast bread is THE most excellent bread for French Toast!

Whole-grain....although wheat is excellent. I never use white.
